Food Review at Asteria Mũi Né

Let's Talk About the Food

This is an important part, so let's dive in. If you've got the full service package with 5 meals a day at the resort, you'll enjoy three buffet meals. If you're not too picky, these three buffets will be enough, meaning you'll be full and won't have to stress about what and where to eat. Why just "enough"?
  • Drinks: The selection is pretty impressive. You can see more in the clips and pictures. There's even red and white wine options for dinner, which is a nice touch. I'm not a wine expert, but it's a bit different from other 4-star resorts.
  • Main Dishes: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner offer similar options like beef stew, fried chicken with fish sauce, soups, and broth served in a pot with small bowls for you to serve yourself, fried rice, porridge, stir-fried or boiled vegetables, stir-fried vermicelli, noodles, sausages, cold cuts, various egg dishes, roasted duck, roasted pork, bánh hỏi, spring rolls, bánh ướt, Vietnamese sausage, steamed cassava... These were the dishes I tried during the three main meals. There are other dishes I don't remember, but they're all basic, no seafood or anything special.
  • Desserts: In the morning, the yogurt is delicious. There's waffles with chocolate sauce, made fresh. Other sweets like croissants, muffins, chocolate, passion fruit... are the same as everywhere else.
  • Kids' Corner: There's a candy bar for kids, with yummy gummy candies. Of course, there's also a cereal bar with fresh milk. For fruit, there were only watermelon, longan, guava, and pineapple. Loads of green bananas left untouched.
A plus point is the kid-friendly eating utensils. Pink Hello Kitty for girls, blue for boys. Bowls, food trays, spoons, forks, and cups are all readily available at the counter. Regarding the two afternoon tea and snack sessions (between breakfast and lunch), we were either sleeping or swimming and too full, so we didn't try them. I really enjoyed the free drinks at the bars. The menu is diverse, and the drinks are delicious. In the evening at the outdoor stage, I had a drink called Teddy Bear, which was mostly pineapple-flavored. It was so good! My kid drank a strawberry yogurt smoothie and loved it. They even asked for another one, a big glass! We also ordered other drinks with each meal, and they came quickly. The restaurant at the pool wasn't open during my visit. I hope it will be open next time, so I can have drinks while swimming. One downside about the food that I shared with the resort is the lack of options for kids, such as pizza, french fries, pasta, and ice cream. I hope the resort will improve the food, making it more diverse, delicious, and perhaps adding seafood on weekends. P/S 1: The pre-made coffee with milk at the restaurant in the morning is terrible. It's best to make your own. I was lazy and tried the pre-made coffee; oh my, it was awful. P/S 2: I want people to book rooms and have bookings, but I won't only give compliments. Reviews have to be honest. I share what is good and what isn't so people can consider before spending money because going on vacation should be enjoyable.
