Sunway Hotel Velocity Stay: A Delightful Experience
My stay at Sunway Hotel Velocity, from May 31st to June 1st, 2025, was a pleasant one. I booked a Deluxe room (upgraded from Superior thanks to my GHA Discovery Platinum status), and the whole experience was quite enjoyable.
Booking Details
I secured the room via direct email with the hotel, using a Sunway Mega Deals voucher that brought the price down to RM250. It was a great value.
Check-In Experience
Upon arrival, the check-in process was a little different. The receptionist took a moment to consult with a colleague before heading into the office. However, the Assistant Front Office Manager, Faz, promptly greeted me with a warm welcome. She also presented me with a small gift from the Sales & Marketing team, along with my room key. This personal touch definitely made a positive impression.
GHA Discovery Program
It's worth noting that the Sunway hotel chain recently joined the GHA Discovery program in May 2025. As part of an introductory promo, every booking earned double D$ – a nice bonus!
The Room
The room was bright and airy, with a cheerful color scheme. It was well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. I even received a welcome amenity for my GHA Discovery Platinum status, which included chocolates and salted egg chips. A thoughtful touch was the inclusion of milk tea sachets and Ipoh white coffee – a delightful addition.
Breakfast Buffet
The breakfast buffet was served at Kaffeneiate on the 5th floor, from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. If your package doesn't include breakfast, it costs RM40 per person. The spread was impressive, featuring a variety of options. I particularly enjoyed the nasi lemak with its tender and flavorful chicken rendang. Other choices included spaghetti, fried rice, a noodle station, congee, dim sum, pastries (including raisin rolls, peach danishes, and muffins), fresh fruit, tea, coffee, chilled juices, and cold cuts.
