Hangzhou's Amazing Citywalk: A Journey of Discovery

The Citywalk in Hangzhou is absolutely stunning! You'll witness half the city's everyday life and the other half in its breathtaking beauty.

To truly experience Hangzhou, you must explore this Citywalk! You'll encounter an old city brimming with daily life's charm, alongside a verdant paradise. It's a hidden gem with fewer crowds and magnificent scenery!

Located at Shi Wu Kui Lane, this walking path extends from Shi Wu Kui Lane to Cheng Huang Pavilion. It transitions from the hustle of quaint alleyways to a green sanctuary shaded by trees. You can also ascend Cheng Huang Pavilion for a fantastic view of West Lake. It offers tranquility and charm, much loved even by locals!

Photo Tips

  • My route was Da Ma Lane - Shi Wu Kui Lane - Xiao Xia Lane - Wu Gong Temple - Cheng Huang Pavilion - Jiang Hu Hui Viewing Pavilion. You can return the same way, or head towards Hu Xueyan's former residence or Nan Song De Shou Palace.
  • The best photo spots are at Xiao Xia Lane (Picture 1, capturing the alley and Wang Xian Pavilion), Wu Gong Temple and its adjacent path (Pictures 6, 7, 10 - a peaceful hillside temple with a view of He Fang Street. The maple courtyard is beautiful in autumn!) and around Cheng Huang Temple (Pictures 8, 9 - the large trees are beautiful, and on a clear day, you can see West Lake).
  • This walking path is easy! Many Hangzhou locals climb it every morning. It's perfect for all ages and not tiring at all!

To start your adventure, exit at Jiangcheng Road subway station or Wushan Square station. Then walk or take a ride to Shi Wu Kui Lane. Find the beginning of the path in Xiao Xia Lane.
