Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya: A Relaxing Stay
My recent stay at Palm Garden Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Putrajaya, was a delightful experience. I always enjoy staying here, and this time was no different. The hotel's greenery creates such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
The Courtyard: A Tranquil Escape
The courtyard is a highlight. It's an open-air concept, yet surprisingly breezy. I recommend visiting in the morning and evening to experience the different vibes. The mornings offer a tranquil escape from the city, while the evenings are romantic, with dim lighting. It's a perfect spot to unwind. Plus, there's Kopi Dulu nearby, a great place for afternoon tea with snacks, coffee, and tea.
Areca Room: Spacious and Comfortable
This time, I chose the Areca Room. It's a generous 495sqft, featuring a king-size bed, a sofa, living area, dining space, and a dry kitchen. It almost feels like a suite! The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was spotless. The view overlooked lush greenery. The room also had a mini fridge, a capsule coffee machine, an iron, a kettle, and a hairdryer — all working perfectly. The bathroom had a modern design with a shower, a toilet, and a bidet. The shower foam and shampoo had a pleasant, slightly woody and citrus scent.
Durian Hub: A Fruity Delight
During my stay, the hotel launched the Durian Hub, in collaboration with Agro Best Service Malaysia. It was held every Friday to Sunday, from 5pm to 9pm. While I'm not a huge durian fan, I was intrigued by their stories of durian cultivation. They offered various durian varieties, including Musang King and Black Thorn, as well as local fruits like mangosteen and rambutan. Prices varied based on the market. You could also order Ais Kacang from Kopi Dulu, which was a large portion suitable for sharing and topping with durian. There was live music at 7 pm.
Dining Experiences
I had dinner at Palm Cafe to try their Grill Nites Buffet. It's priced at RM98 nett for adults and RM78 for children and runs on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30pm to 10pm. Although the buffet highlights Thai cuisine, I'm more of a Western food fan. I enjoyed dishes like Lamb Black Pepper, Chicken Wings, Grilled Squid, Mashed Potato, Seafood on Ice, salads, and various cakes. The food was delicious! For breakfast, I returned to Palm Cafe. I tried local dishes like Nasi Lemak, Nasi Goreng, Daging Masak Hitam, and Rendang Ayam. I especially loved the Daging Masak Hitam – the meat was incredibly tender, and the dishes were flavorful! Avocado and Smoked Salmon were very popular. There were coffee, fruit juice, detox smoothies, and tea. The pastries were also good – buttery and not too sweet.
Relaxation and Amenities
Before checking out, I relaxed by the swimming pool. There are two pools, including a children's pool with a slide. The adult pool offers plenty of seating. There's also a new Kid Zone, which I didn't get a chance to explore, but it's an indoor playground for parents. It's located opposite the gym. Staying here always feels too short. There's a lot of delicious food, and the location is strategic, close to IOI City Mall. The hotel provides a bus shuttle every hour; you can get off at Moxy Hotel next to the shopping mall.
