Quảng Ngãi Eyes a New Landmark Spanning the Trà Khúc River
After more than 60 years of faithful service, the old Trà Khúc 1 bridge has aged, becoming narrow and showing signs of wear. Now, the land of Mount Ấn and the Trà River are preparing to welcome a brand new successor: modern, beautiful, and ready to impress.
This new bridge is not just about transportation infrastructure; it's also a work of architectural art. Its cable-stayed design features three interconnected steel circles, inspired by the water wheels, an image deeply rooted in the memories and culture of Quảng Ngãi.
Key Features:
- Total length: approximately 830 meters (including approach roads)
- Southern side: Connects to the Quang Trung – Bà Triệu – Hai Bà Trưng roundabout, with an 11.5-meter underpass to prevent traffic congestion
- Northern side: Connects to a new roundabout, preserving the heritage banyan tree as a landscape highlight
- Total investment: over 2.199 billion VND, sourced from the provincial budget
- Expected completion: 2027
It's no surprise that the leaked renderings have caused a stir among the community. If built according to the design, the new Trà Khúc 1 bridge will not only improve traffic flow but also become a new symbol for Quảng Ngãi.
