Hội An Travel Review: June 1st, 2025
Accommodation Review
We stayed at Green Garden Villas Hội An, located at 53 Phan Đình Phùng. It's a lovely place with a pool! Our family of six (two adults, four children) stayed in a family room with two large double beds, costing 700k. For smaller groups, they offer rooms with one double bed for 450k. We rated the service quality a 9.5/10. It has a family-villa feel, sharing the building with the owners downstairs, but it felt very private. The hosts were very accommodating.
Food Reviews
Here are a few places we tried:
- Phở Liến on La Hối street: This is a relocated restaurant from the old town. Besides the phở, they have bánh mì with minced pork that's quite unique. The phở is slightly sweeter than I'm used to, but it's worth trying. Small bowls cost 20-25k, large ones 30-35k, and the bánh mì is 10k each. Rating: 9.5/10.
- Cơm Gà (Chicken Rice): We heard about Cơm Gà Nga through a group, but it was packed, so we tried Phúc next door. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't great. Even though they had few customers, service was slow, and we waited a long time. The chicken rice tasted like it was mixed with chicken broth, and the cao lầu had very little meat and noodles. I wanted to support the business, but I was disappointed. Rating: I didn't want to give it a rating. I'd like to offer feedback, but I wasn't sure how.
- We also tried to go to Cô Một grilled meat, but it was crowded, and they were out of food! (It must be delicious, as it's very popular!) Next time, we'll go early!
Fun Activities and Places
My youngest saw a TikTok video about a candy workshop, so we visited Simple Candy at 34 Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai. The kids got to make candy – 135k per child (we went on June 1st, so they had a buy-one-get-one-free offer). The children really enjoyed the experience and loved their candy workshop certificates, along with two bags of cute candies to take home! We also purchased Mr. Beast chocolate (95k each), a big hit with the kids.
