Bali Adventure: A Spontaneous 4-Day Itinerary

Here's a peek into my unplanned Bali getaway, a 4-day, self-guided adventure! I focused on the spots that sparked my interest, organizing everything to make the most of my time. The costs? You'll find them at the end.

Arrival & Ubud Retreat

After landing around 4:30 PM, customs was surprisingly quick. They just asked a few simple questions, like where I was headed, who I was with, and how long I'd be staying.

I booked a car to my resort in advance, but I wouldn't recommend it. Consider using the Grab app instead, as it's often more affordable.

Around 8:00 PM, I checked into Pitamaha resort in Ubud. The staff there were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Resort Relaxation & Ubud's Magic

Day two was all about embracing the beauty of the resort. I spent the day exploring and snapping photos within the stunning grounds. In the afternoon, I ventured to Wedja, a highly recommended restaurant known for its fairytale-like atmosphere in Ubud.

Nusa Penida Island – A Learning Experience

My Nusa Penida island tour didn't go quite as planned.

I woke up early, ready for a day of exploration. After checking out from my hotel at 6:30 AM, the transfer to the island took about two hours. By the time I got on the speedboat, it was around 8:30 or 9:00 AM. The boat ride itself was over an hour.

I reached the T-Rex viewpoint around 11:00 AM. The lines for photos were long, and I paid extra for a faster turn. I really wanted to visit Kelingking Beach, but my driver said there wasn't enough time, so I missed out, unfortunately.

My advice is to dedicate a full day to the island. There are so many beautiful places, but it takes a while to get around, and the crowds can be significant.

Ayana's Charm & Rock Bar

At 3:30 PM, I checked into the amazing Ayana Bali resort! It is vast and incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend staying there.

After freshening up, I headed to Rock Bar, located within the resort. It's a must-see experience!

Beach Vibes & Departure

I started day four by exploring Kubu Beach, another beautiful area within the resort. You take an elevator down to reach the beach, which gives you a very chill experience.

Breakfast at Ayana was great, and I had a choice of three restaurants.

After exploring the resort's beach, I checked out at noon.

The trip to the airport took about 50 minutes. And with that, my trip concluded!

Food & Overall Impression

I mostly ate at the resorts, and the food was delicious and easy to enjoy.

Four days felt too short to fully explore Bali, but from my perspective, it's an island with beautiful nature. The people are kind and helpful, and food is delicious. It's definitely worth experiencing!
