Sunway Hotel Velocity: A Quick Stay
My recent stay at Sunway Hotel Velocity, from May 31st to June 1st, 2025, was quite pleasant. Here's a glimpse of the experience.
The Details
I booked a Deluxe room (an upgrade from the Superior category, thanks to my GHA Discovery Platinum status) through a direct email booking. The price was a fantastic RM250, thanks to a Sunway Mega deals voucher.
Checking In
The check-in process was a bit unique. After the receptionist briefly conferred with a colleague, the Assistant Front Office Manager, Faz, personally greeted me. She offered a warm welcome, presented a small gift from the Sales & Marketing team, and handed over my room key. The hospitality was certainly appreciated.
GHA Discovery Perks
Sunway Hotels joined the GHA Discovery family in May 2025. As part of an introductory promotion, bookings earned double D$.
The Room
The room was bright and airy, decorated in cheerful colors. Amenities were plentiful, including a welcome amenity for GHA Discovery Platinum members (chocolates and salted egg chips). I particularly enjoyed the inclusion of milk tea and Ipoh white coffee sachets.
Breakfast at Kaffeneiate
Breakfast was served buffet-style at Kaffeneiate on the 5th floor, from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. If breakfast wasn't included in your package, it cost RM40 per person. The spread was quite impressive:
- Nasi lemak with tender and delicious chicken rendang
- Spaghetti
- Nasi goreng
- A noodle station
- Porridge
- Various pao and dim sum
- Pastries, including raisin rolls, peach danishes, and muffins
- Fresh fruit
- Tea, coffee, chilled juice, and cold cuts
