Vietjet Launches First Direct Flights Connecting Vietnam and Russia
Vietjet has officially inaugurated the first direct flights between Vietnam and Russia, directly connecting the coastal city of Nha Trang with three major cities in the Russian Far East: Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and Blagoveshchensk. The inaugural flights took off with great fanfare on June 15th, in partnership with international travel partners, offering convenient journeys with a travel time of less than 8 hours – a significant reduction compared to current connecting flights.
The destinations in Russia are all important economic and cultural centers, as well as the capitals and major cities of the Far East region. Vietjet's operation of direct flights helps meet the increasing travel demand between the two countries, especially as the number of Russian visitors returning to Vietnam shows many positive signs. In the first 5 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed over 210,000 Russian tourists, with Khanh Hoa province alone attracting more than 100,000, affirming the outstanding appeal of Nha Trang as a destination.
The expansion of direct flights between Russia and Vietnam not only creates strong growth momentum for the aviation and tourism industries during the peak summer season of 2025 but also contributes to promoting economic, cultural, and trade exchanges between Vietnam and international partners.
