On Monday, June 23rd, at 1:30 PM, I had the pleasure of indulging in the cake of my dreams – a Louis Vuitton treat. The location was on the Right Bank, along the Seine River, directly across from La Samaritaine. For orientation, think of it as west from the Louvre Museum, then La Samaritaine, and finally, the Louis Vuitton cafe.
They open at 11:00 AM. Reservations are only accepted for lunch (which also includes the cakes). Since we were there just for cake, we couldn't make a reservation. We went prepared to wait in line, but surprisingly, it wasn't busy yesterday. We were seated immediately, and we were lucky enough to get a table with a fantastic view of the Seine.
As expected from Louis Vuitton, the staff were incredibly welcoming, efficient, and stylish. Plus, everyone was so well-dressed!
The cake and the champagne are certainly not cheap, but I truly believe they are worth the price, both for the taste and the atmosphere. I was extremely satisfied.
Apparently, it's usually very crowded, so if you have limited time, making a lunch reservation (which includes the cake) would be a smart move. We allotted at least an hour for waiting, but we got in right away – so fortunate! Perhaps because it was a weekday? (You can always browse the shops while you wait, which is fun.)
We were told we'd have to leave in 40 minutes, but we were not hurried. The restrooms were pristine, and, of course, free.
After leaving Vuitton, we spent three hours chatting over a 2.7€ coffee at the opulent Starbucks east of the Opera Garnier, also using their restrooms. Do note that the Starbucks restrooms didn't have paper, so it's a good idea to bring some tissues just in case. ☺️
