Thailand: A Glimpse into Lyon's Confluence Museum - Part 2
Following up on my last post, let's continue our journey through Lyon. Today, we're exploring the Musée des Confluences, a museum situated in the redeveloped peninsula where the Rhône and Saône rivers meet, south of the historic district.
As a devoted fan of Paris, I regularly visit to study architectural design, both contemporary and historical. Each weekend, I share my discoveries of modern Parisian architecture.
A Modern Marvel
Completed at the end of 2014, the Confluence Museum is dedicated to science and society. The design is by the Austrian architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au, known internationally for projects like the Groninger Museum and the BMW Welt.
The museum's design evokes the image of a crystalline cloud, resulting in a truly futuristic structure.
Treasures Within
The museum houses over two million items. One of the most popular attractions is its display of two Tyrannosaurus rex specimens. After learning that, I couldn't help but see the building as a giant dinosaur!
