KBank Lounge Review at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)
Just back from Bangkok, so I thought I'd share my experience with the KBank lounge (K Point Klub) at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Finding the Lounge
BKK is huge, with multiple levels, and the airport staff didn't seem to know where the lounge was located. Finding it was a bit of a treasure hunt. There are two lounges, one on each side, so Google Maps is your friend here. Just follow the directions to the lounge closest to your departure gate. Be prepared to double-check, as I ended up on the wrong floor at first. Now that I know the way, it will be easier to find it next time.
I used the West lounge, in Concourse G. I've included some pictures to help you spot it. It's tucked away in a quiet corner.
I arrived at 3 PM and it was empty. Even when I left for my flight at 5 PM, there were no other guests.
Inside the Lounge
The lounge offers private cabins if you need to work in peace, and individual seating areas. There are power outlets at every seat.
Access & Perks
At the reception, I presented my KBank Visa Platinum Cashback card. The staff guided me through a quick QR code scan and registration form; it only took about 3 minutes. I could also bring a guest with me for free. This card gives you two lounge visits per year.
I took a picture of the QR code for easy re-entry (limited to 2 hours), and used the code to redeem products at a vending machine.
Food & Drinks
Each entry comes with two coupons to redeem for any products available. There aren't any drinks readily available, so I saved them by getting ice and hot water to make coffee and instant noodles, and drank it. You can also use a coupon for a drink if you prefer.
There's a Vietnamese-language instruction board at the reception desk. This shows that Vietnamese customers are a significant part of the card's service.
Other Amenities
The lounge doesn't have its own restrooms, but they're located right next to it.
The Wi-Fi requires a password at the entrance and then registration via a website to use. It is a bit inconvenient. I skipped this and used the free airport Wi-Fi.
Overall Experience
The receptionist was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
In my opinion: BKK airport is vast, with lots of shops, so you won't get bored during your wait.
The lounge is located far from the boarding gates.
I've been to other lounges like VCB and SH, which offered a buffet, so the food in this lounge was a bit disappointing.
It is nice to know what the benefits of the card are. There wasn't much difference between being inside the lounge and sitting outside. I went to experience the privileges this credit card has.
