M Social Resort Penang: A Quick Take
A fresh, revamped hotel near Tanjung Bungah, Penang – perfect for a quick trip. It's a stone's throw from Batu Feringghi, conveniently located near eateries, and boasts a large Uniqlo outlet nearby.
Dates of stay: July 26-27, 2025. The price, checked on Agoda, was under RM300, around RM270 for these dates. Booked through someone else, so the exact amount wasn't available. Didn't opt for breakfast. Breakfast add-on cost was around RM35 per person.
Room: Social Cosy King, 32m²

Arrived at 1:30 PM. The room wasn't ready. Enquired again at 2:40 PM; still not ready. Tried my luck, hoping for an early check-in, considering some rooms seemed available. The room was ready at 3 PM.

The lobby design is beautiful. It features a modern design. There are many sofas for waiting. We had no problem waiting for one and a half hours.

Pros:
- The room is lovely, spacious, and cozy with a balcony.
- Air conditioning was effective.
- There's a sofa bed.
- Cleanliness was top-notch.
- A large, smart TV is available.
- Includes a smart remote/clock.
- Easy in-room dining and towel requests are possible.
- Everything is new.
- Bathrobes are provided!
- The laundry bag is nice.
- The glasses were cute, almost wanted to buy them.
Cons:
- No iron in the room.
- Had to request one, took two calls to get it.

This room didn't have a sea view, but sea view rooms are available.

No bathtub, but basic amenities like soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are provided. Toothbrushes and everything else are standard. The shower has handheld only. Water pressure was adequate.

Wifi works well, and the line is fast.
✅Facilities (Gym/Swimming Pool/Spa/etc)
There's a gym, a pool, and the sea. When we went to the pool as the kids were excited to jump in, we found out it was closed from 5 PM-8:30 PM for a private event. Disappointed that no one informed us during check-in! Forgot the hotel had the beach. We played on the sand/sea first. At 8:30 PM, we went back to the pool; many people were waiting. There is an adult pool (about 1.5m deep) and a kids' pool. The best part is the hotel provides many floaters; the first time finding a hotel with so many floaters.
Parking

There is basement parking. However, you need to climb stairs to reach the lobby – no lift. We had to haul the trolley ourselves when we arrived. Requested the staff to help with the luggage a few times. Eventually, they said it was because there was no room number written on the trolley.
🔵OVERALL STAY
The room is beautiful; the hotel is lovely. Affordable price. There are a pool and the sea. Worth the money. We might not repeat this stay because the service felt a bit lacking. Maybe we were unlucky. We had a choice between Bertam, Flamingo, and this hotel. We chose this hotel because we had been to Bertam before and saw good reviews, and the hotel was new. If you want to give it a try, it's okay because the price is affordable.
