Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown: A Return Visit

I recently revisited the Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown, marking my second stay at this hotel. My first visit was just a month prior. The hotel, which opened on August 26th, is located in Dutamas, conveniently across from the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). On this occasion, I booked through Trip.com, selecting a King room for RM425.89. This price included taxes but excluded breakfast.

I arrived at the hotel a bit early, around 12:40 PM, and headed straight to the lobby. The lobby is spacious and quite elegant. Besides the reception area, there's a restaurant on the same level where guests can enjoy breakfast. I was greeted by the Front Office Manager, Mr. Muzhaffar Rashman, who was very welcoming. The check-in process was smooth, and the hotel collected a deposit of RM200. I was pleasantly upgraded to a Kuala Lumpur-facing room (a Corner Room), at no extra charge. After receiving my room key, I took the lift to my room on the 11th floor. The hotel has five lifts, and the wait time was minimal. My room was a comfortable 452 square feet.

Upon entering the room, there's an open rack to the right of the entrance, holding an iron, ironing board, and a safe. Next to it, there's a long sofa beside the window, with a view of the swimming pool. There's also an open cabinet for hanging clothes. The room provided a bathrobe. Adjacent to this is another cabinet housing a mini-fridge. Above, you'll find everything you need to make drinks, including a coffee machine.

The sleeping area features a king-size bed and a large sofa on the left side of the bed. The back of the sofa is against the window, offering a view of MITEC and Kuala Lumpur. In front of the sofa is a large round table and a chair, perfect for work. Opposite the foot of the bed is a TV stand with a large 65-inch television.

The bathroom is opposite the wardrobe and has a lockable sliding door. It's quite spacious, with two sinks, a toilet area, and a shower area. The toilet area is covered by translucent glass, while the shower area is entirely transparent. Both areas are roomy and comfortable. The hotel provides a toilet with remote control and does not use a bidet hose. The shower has two types of showerheads, a handheld one and an overhead one. Another set of bathrobes is hanging in the bathroom. The hotel also provides a full set of toiletries.

The hotel boasts an outdoor swimming pool located on the 5th floor. The pool is stunning and spacious. The unique feature is the pool's floor is made from marble instead of tiles, which is a rare feature compared to other hotels. This might be why the water is so cold, along with the fact that it uses saltwater rather than chlorine. Beside the pool is a large jacuzzi. The pool is open from 7 AM to 8 PM. The atmosphere at the pool in the evening is fantastic. The view from the pool area is also stunning because it faces Kuala Lumpur. On the same level, there's a 24-hour gymnasium.

The free WiFi provided in the room was fast, reaching speeds of 127mbps. Mobile data speed tests indicated 85mbps for Tune Talk and 79mbps for CelcomDigi. The hotel provides many HD channels, and the provided TV is large in size. The water pressure in the shower was strong, and I was very satisfied with it. For those driving, the hotel offers free parking. Check-out time was set at 1:00 PM.

The hotel is truly beautiful, especially at night. The rooms are clean, large, and comfortable. Everything is still new, and the hotel staff is incredibly friendly. In terms of location, it's just across from MITEC but a bit far from the city center. It's 1.8 km from Publika shopping mall. The nearest MRT station is Semantan MRT Station, which is about 6 km away. I would like to thank Mr. Muzhaffar again for the complimentary room upgrade.

Here are some pictures that I took during this stay. If readers would like to read my reviews of other hotels, please visit my section in this group. For those wanting to stay updated on my staycations, please follow me on Facebook. Thank you for reading!
