Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown: A Return Visit
My second stay at this hotel, following my first just last month. Opened on August 26th, it's conveniently located in Dutamas, right in front of the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). For this trip, I booked through Trip.com, opting for a King room priced at RM425.89, which included taxes but excluded breakfast.
Arriving early around 12:40 PM, I headed straight to the lobby, which is spacious and beautifully designed. Besides the reception, there's a restaurant on the same level where breakfast is served. I was warmly greeted by the Front Office Manager, Mr. Muzhaffar Rashman. Check-in was smooth, with a RM200 deposit required. As a bonus, my room was upgraded to a Kuala Lumpur view (Corner Room) at no extra charge!
After receiving my key card, I took the elevator to my room on the 11th floor. The hotel has five elevators, and waiting times were impressively short. My room, a comfortable 452 square feet, offered plenty of space.
Upon entering, a convenient open rack to the right held an iron, ironing board, and a safe. Beside it, a long sofa faced the window, offering a view of the swimming pool. Next, there was an open cabinet for hanging clothes and storing items, with a bathrobe hanging nearby. Adjacent to this, another cabinet housed a mini fridge, along with coffee-making facilities including a coffee machine.
The bedroom area featured a king-size bed, complemented by a large sofa on the left. The back of the sofa faced a window overlooking MITEC and Kuala Lumpur city. A large, round table and a chair provided a comfortable workspace. Across from the bed, a 65-inch TV sat on a TV stand.
The bathroom, located opposite the wardrobe, featured sliding doors. It was spacious, with two sinks, a toilet area, and a shower area. The toilet area had a translucent mirror, while the shower area had a fully transparent one. Both areas were comfortable and expansive. The hotel provided a toilet with remote control and did not provide a bidet hose. The shower had both handheld and rain shower options, with another pair of bathrobes hanging inside. Complete toiletries were provided.
The hotel boasts an outdoor swimming pool on the 5th floor. The pool is remarkably beautiful and expansive. Its unique feature is its marble flooring, unlike the tiles typically found in other hotels. This might be why the water is so cold, and it uses saltwater instead of chlorine. A large jacuzzi sits by the pool. The pool is open from 7 AM to 8 PM. The pool area is particularly stunning at night, offering views of Kuala Lumpur city. A 24-hour gymnasium is also available on the same level.
The free Wi-Fi in the room was fast, reaching speeds of 127mbps. For mobile networks, Tune Talk achieved 85mbps, while CelcomDigi reached 79mbps. Besides the large TV, a wide selection of free channels, mostly in HD, was available. The water pressure in the shower was strong, providing a satisfying experience. For those driving, the hotel provides ample free parking. Check-out was at 1:00 PM.
The hotel is certainly beautiful, especially at night. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. All the equipment is still new, and the staff provides friendly service. The hotel's location is excellent, just across from MITEC, though a bit away from the city center. It's 1.8 km from the Publika shopping mall. The nearest MRT station is Semantan Station, about 6 km away. I extend my thanks again to Mr. Muzhaffar for the complimentary room upgrade.
